Custom Antler Carvings and Other Creations 10-24-10

For those of you that are not familiar with me, my name is Knight C Duerig and I live in King Hill, Idaho and I do custom carving in Deer and Elk antlers. I have also worked with Moose and Caribou antlers as well as Ram’s Horn.
I first began carving antlers back in the mid eighties as a hobby. After getting married in 1987, I dropped the carving for the more important job of raising a family, and then picked it up again in 2003. I’ve been carving fairly steady now for the past 7 years.
Although self-taught as far as carving goes, I have had a small amount of formal training in art: 2 semesters of painting, 2 semesters of pottery and 1 semester of silversmithing back in my college days.
I am currently an active member of the Visual Arts Committee of the Mountain Home (Idaho) Arts Council.
Besides carving antlers, I have also done some wood carving for walking sticks and walking staffs and I work with a wood lathe.
I market my work several different ways…I have my own website, Knight's Crafts, that is basically a gallery of the work that I have done. It can stimulate your imagination. (I like to say that I’m only limited by your imagination.) I keep current items that are for sale on my Etsy site and I show my work at art and craft shows here in Idaho.

Here is an update on my Etsy site.

This past week, I have added three items: a Big Horn Ram carving mounted on an Apricot base, a Polar Bear Pendent and an Apple Walking Stick.

I hope that you will take a few minutes and do some window shopping. If you are looking for something special, I have a gift certificate program. You set the amount you want to spend and your friend gets to have a custom carving done to his or her taste. Just email me for details.

I also mentor online marketing thru the following site: My Team Builder Pro if you’re interested.

Text Ad Exchange Analysis

This is today’s update of my text ad exchange advertising campaigns.

By my tracking things this way, you will be able to see just how effective text exchange advertising can be.

For efficiency, I have all of the text ad exchange programs that I belong to listed in a spread sheet, and each one is assigned to a day of the week. This way, I hit each exchange once a week.

I open my spread sheet and start clicking on the programs that are listed for today. (You can also set the day’s text ad exchanges in a favorites folder and then open them that way.)

Today’s programs:

Tigers Roar has gone from 491 members to 490 in the past week. I started with 21,000 Banner impressions and 22 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate since September 12th on the banners is 2.24% this week. The average solo ad went from a 2.77% click thru rate to 2.70%.

Devilish Ads has gone from 230 members to 231 in the past week. I started with 40,000 Banner impressions and 55 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate since September 12th on the banners is 1.96% this week. The average solo ad went from a 3.15% click thru rate to 3.14%.

Drive-Inn Ads has grown from 344 members to 349 in the past week. I started with 5,500 Banner impressions and 10 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate since September 19th on the banners is 1.68% this week. The average solo ad went from a 0.97% click thru rate to 1.15%.

Heavy Hitter has gone from 634 members to 633 in the past week. I started with 3,000 Banner impressions and 2 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate since September 26th on the banners is 0.0% this week. The average solo ad went from a 2.21% click thru rate to 2.21%.

Freedom Traffic has grown from 427 members to 429 in the past week. I started with 25,500 Banner impressions and 30 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate since October 3rd on the banners is 0.82% this week. The average solo ad went from a 1.17% click thru rate to 0.82%.

E-Share Ads has grown from 234 members to 238 in the past week. I started with 20,750 Banner impressions and 30 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate since October 10th on the banners is 1.27% this week. The average solo ad has a 1.68% click thru rate.

Now I can simply resend my solo ad in each program or I can choose to start a new solo ad campaign. Each campaign should run 5-7 mailings for the best results.

I started sending the same solo ad for my Antler Carving website to each text ad exchange that I belong to on the 6th of October and will be following my own advice and running this campaign for 5-7 weeks with weekly updates

As usual, the next step is to join at least one more program today. (I belong to a program that lists over 200 text ad exchanges and has promo codes for all of them.)

I joined Mountain Top Ads today and with all of my promos, I ended up with 20 Banner Ads, 15 Button Ads, 15 Solo Ads, 5 Hot Link Ads, 5 Traffic Link Ads and 5 Login Ads. (All free, of course.)

When you join any of these programs, email me and I’ll send you the link to get the promo codes for each of them.

Text Ad Exchange Analysis for Saturday, 10-16-10

This is the daily update of my text ad exchange advertising campaigns.

Super Text Ads has grown from 239 members to 264 in the past week. I started with 3,000 Banner impressions and 5 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate on the banners since September 25th was 3.01% last week and is 0.91% this week. The average solo ad click thru rate went from a 16.74% to 5.21%.

Smokey Mountain Ads went from 156 members to 159 in the past week. I started with 25,500 Banner impressions and 30 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate on the banners since October 2nd was 0.0% last week and is 2.51% this week. The average solo ad click thru rate went from a 1.92% to 1.26%.

Daily Talk Ads has grown from 755 members to 896 in the past week. I started with 10,750 Banner impressions and 18 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate on the banners since October 2nd was 1.018% last week and is 4.90% this week. The average solo ad click thru rate went from a 1.77% to 4.91%.

Da Place 2 Be went from 344 members to 357 in the past week. I started with 20,000 Banner impressions and 26 solo ads available. The cumulative click thru rate on the banners since October9th is still 0.0%. The average solo ad click thru rate is also 0.0%

Now I can simply resend my solo ad in each program by clicking on one link and then hitting the resend button in each program or I can choose to start a new solo ad campaign. Each campaign should run 5-7 mailings for the best results.

I started sending the same solo ad for my Antler Carving website to each text ad exchange that I belong to on the 6th of October and will be following my own advice and running this Antler Carving campaign for 5-7 weeks.

I have a splash page set up that captures the name and email of everyone who continues to my target site.

I also started tracking all of my ads with the Google URL Shortening program. I will be updating the weekly stats on my Saturday blog. The stats since the 6th for my splash page show hits from text ad exchange banners (20) and solo ads (354). I am also using safelists (330) and traffic exchanges (501).

Keep in mind that I am running a total of 10 different banners for 10 different programs on these text ad exchanges, so the 20 hits from the banners is deceptive. That is 20 hits to just one of my banners.

I have gained 5 more people for my Antler Carving mailing list and made 1 sale this week.

As usual, the next step is to join at least one more program today. (I belong to a program that lists over 200 text ad exchanges and has promo codes for all of them.)

Now I simply resend my solo ad in each program by clicking on one link and then hitting the resend button in each program. I can also choose to start a new solo ad campaign. Each campaign should run 5-7 mailings for the best results.

I’m Not A Hare, Are You?

I have found that if I set up a daily routine for my advertising, that I am much more apt to get a regular response. I know it’s not a fantastic sign up rate, only one this week, (none of this 30-40 members a day bull), but remember the hare and the tortoise. I’m a tortoise.

I’ve recently started using text ad exchanges as a portion of my advertising mix and thought I’d share with you what I do each morning.

I have all of the text ad exchange programs that I belong to listed in a spread sheet, and each one is assigned a day of the week.

So I open my spread sheet and start clicking on the programs that are listed for today. Since I just started this regimen, there are only 3 programs for me to check this morning.

How to Join A Text Ad Exchange

Step 1: Set up a Gmail account just for your Text Add Exchanges, as you will be receiving a lot of ext ads and it is easy to control them with Gmail.

Step 2: Pick a Text Ad Exchange to join. You can run a search for the top 10 text ad exchanges on your favorite search engine as a starting point, or you can go here and find over 200 exchanges with promo codes for all of them. This program is free to join and just keeps growing.

Step 3: Fill out the form to join, being sure to use your new gmail.com email. As soon as your application is accepted, go to Gmail and log in to your new account. There should be a Welcome Email from your new exchange.

Step 4: Go ahead and open it and click on the verification link, which will open in a new window.

Step 5: Before you leave Gmail, you need to set up a filter for your new account. On the menu bar there is a button for ”More Actions”.
Select it and click on the “Filter messages like this” link. Then click on “Next Step”. Now select “Skip the inbox” and “Apply the label” and in the drop down menu, select “New Label”, which you will name for the exchange. Now check the “Also apply filter” next to the ”Create Filter” button and then click the button.
Now, whenever any mail comes from your new exchange, it will be put in it’s own folder instead of filling your inbox.

Step 6: Now, go to the new window for your new exchange and take a look at the one-time offer that is always there when you first verify your email. Make your own decision, based on your knowledge of your goals and assets as to whether or not to take advantage of it. Either way, you will end up on the “Start here” page after you log in. (You may find another “Special” after you log in…)

Step 7: It’s promo code time. You will usually find a promo code on the start page. You need to go to the “Advertising” page to enter the code for your free advertising. There you will find a form for entering your promo code(s). It is recommended that you type in the codes, as pasting them doesn’t always work. If a code doesn’t work, contact the site owner and provide him with all of the details.

Step 8: Once you have all of your promo codes entered and accepted, then return to the advertising page and scroll all the way to the bottom. There you will find your free advertising.

Step 9: I recommend setting up a spread sheet with all of your information for advertising all of your programs.

The columns on your advertising sheet need to have the following headings:
Program Name (hyperlink this to your login page)
Program URL (This is the URL that you want your advertising to lead to…I recommend using a splash page for each program. This allows you to capture their information when they ask for more information)
Banner URL (This is the URL where your banner is stored.)
Button URL (This is the URL where your button is stored)
Your Hotlinks Description (A subject or headline)

Use a separate row in your spreadsheet for each program.

Step 10: Click on the Banner setup link and input the correct information for your first banner. You will be asked for the name of your banner, the banner URL (copy and paste this from your spreadsheet to avoid errors.) and the target URL (copy and paste this also). After you have entered your information, click on the preview and then save it. Now go back to the advertising page and set up the rest of your banners.

Step 11. Setup your solo ad. I keep all of my solo ads in a separate folder for easy access. Be sure to NOT put your URL in the body of the ad. It goes in it’s own box at the bottom of the form.

The Spreadsheet Advantage for Text Ad Exchanges

I am really enjoying all of the advertising that I’m getting through the promo codes on the text ad exchanges.

In case you’re not familiar with text ad exchanges, they are similar to safelists, in concept. You earn credits by reading solo ads from other exchange members. These credits can be used for banners, buttons, hotlinks, traffic links, login ads and solo ads.

For the banners and buttons, they ask for the URL for the banner/button and the link that each one leads to…your site.

For the hotlinks and traffic links, they want a headline/description and the destination for the link.

For the login ads and solo ads, you also need the destination URL as well as the lead and the body of the ad.

This is a lot of information to keep track of, isn’t it?

Not if you know how to utilize the spreadsheet advantage.

Before we get into the spreadsheet advantages, let me offer a word of advice. Set up a new Gmail email account just for these text ad exchanges. Most of the exchanges will only accept a gmail email, so you might as well be prepared.

Now, on to the advantage of using a spreadsheet.

The first step is to set up the columns in your spreadsheet. I keep one worksheet for the programs I join and one for all of the programs that I want to advertise.

On the text ad exchange sheet, you want, at a minimum: The Program Name, the login URL, the Referral URL and your username and email used in the program. This will allow you to have all of this information at your fingertips. You can also track the membership numbers, and the date you set up your ads and when to come back to this site for review.

The columns on your advertising sheet need to have the following headings:
Program Name (hyperlink to your login page )
Program URL (This is the URL that you want your advertising to lead to…I recommend using a splash page for each program that allows you to capture their information when they ask for more information)
Banner URL (This is the URL where your banner is stored.)
Button URL (This is the URL where your button is stored)
Your Hotlinks Description (A subject or headline)
Your Traffic Link Description (This can be the same as your hotlinks, or a different subject/headline)
Your Solo Ad (This can be just a reminder of where it is, or the actual ad.)
Your Log In Ad (This can be just a reminder of where it is, or the actual ad.)
Your Banner Code (This can be used in your login ad)

Now, after you have joined a Text Ad Exchange and entered your promo codes for all of the free advertising, you can go to your advertising sheet and all of the information is right there for you to set up everything. Just set up a separate row for each program that you want to advertise.

Click here if you would like to have a good source for promo codes for over 200 text ad exchanges.

How To Easily Maximize All of Your Traffic Exchanges

How To Easily Maximize All of Your Traffic Exchanges
Copyright © Knight C Duerig
http://kcduerig.com

In researching this article, I found one site that lists over 900
traffic exchanges, which begs the question; how do you manage all
of those traffic exchanges? I won’t pretend to be able to answer
that question but I will show you how I manage my 35-40 of the
best manual traffic exchanges.

I don’t know what percentage of those 900 are autosurf traffic
exchanges and which one’s are manual traffic exchanges. The one’s
that I use are all considered the best manual traffic exchanges.
My strategy is to surf 5-6 traffic exchange programs every day. I
have two methods to keep track of which one’s are due and which
one’s aren’t.

The first method I recommend is to set up 7 different folders in
your favorites file. One folder for each day of the week. I then
bookmark the traffic exchanges for each day of the week in the
appropriate folder.

I use Firefox as my browser and it allows me to open all of the
bookmarks in a folder with one click. So first thing in the
morning, I open the traffic exchanges for that day and then check
to make sure they have the right websites listed and that any
credits are assigned where I want them. Then it is time to start
surfing.

Another feature of Firefox is that I can tab between my different
sites by simply holding down the control key and hitting the tab
key. This allows me to surf 5 or 6 traffic exchanges with very
little time spent waiting for a site to load or the timer to
count down. This makes my time much more efficient.

I will surf the same sites all day long, as my time permits.
Sometimes I can only surf in the morning and the evenings and
other days I get much more time on the computer.

My second method of tracking the top traffic exchanges is to use
a spreadsheet. I set it up so that I have a worksheet for each
day of the week, which corresponds to the files in my bookmarks.
I set up columns for each of the following: the date I joined an
exchange, the name of the traffic exchange, the link to my login
page, the link for referrals, my username/member number, my email
and you can list your passwords here too.

Having a separate row for each exchange, I can also list the
sites that I am advertising and any other comments that I feel
are needed.

Using these methods, you can surf any given traffic exchange at
least once a week and you won’t have to worry about it becoming
inactive.

The frequency at which you surf any particular program
is strictly up to you. Any where from the same 5-6 sites every
day to 5-6 different sites each day.
